Texas Two-Step: Wild West Shuffle

My favorite hobby, even above quilting, is western swing dancing.  One of the first patterns my husband and I learned in dance class was called the Wild West Shuffle, for which this quilt is named.  A number of other quilts are also named after various dance patterns.

This quilt is totally scrappy, with an overall pattern created by light and dark values.  Learning to sort print fabrics with many colors by value is one of the most difficult things for a beginning quilter to learn.  I use this quilt as the class project for that reason.
