Texas Two-Step: Down the Line

When you take dance lessons the instructor is constantly saying move "down the line" or look "down the line".   Since this quilt has strong diagonal lines I thought is would be a good name.  Diagonal lines help draw the viewer's eye across the surface of the quilt. 

An easy way to choose fabrics for a scrap quilt is to make one based on color.  I did learn that value still plays an important part.  In this case the blues are darker than the yellows.  I had one block that combined a harsh dark gold with a very light blue.  The block is not in the quilt.
