Broken Dishes: Do You See Stars?

This set of blocks proved to be a challenge.  The block has four values (light, medium light, medium and dark).  Many of the blocks did not have clear shifts in value.  Also in any one group of four fabrics, red could be the dark while in another group it could be the medium.  This made for inconsistent values in the block set. 

I sorted the blocks and put the ones with the most consistent values in this quilt.  I only used blocks that had a very dark fabric in the dark position.  You should be able to see stars as well as very strong diagonal lines. I also set aside the blocks with bright colors such as hot pink and gold.  Jinny Beyer has a rule for colors that don't seem to go with the rest of the quilt:  take it out or add more. In this case I took them out.
